TECHNICAL & NON-TECHNICAL EVENTS
CAD Clash
Event Description:
CAD Clash is an individual design challenge that tests participants’ proficiency in 3D CAD modeling using SolidWorks under time-bound conditions. Participants will be provided with a mechanical component drawing or specifications at the start of the event and are required to accurately model the component while strictly following the given design requirements. The event emphasizes speed, precision, feature-based modeling skills, and adherence to engineering drawings, reflecting real-world design constraints commonly encountered in industry and research environments.
Event Rules:
- The event is open to individual participants only.
- The total duration of the event is 45 minutes.
- Participants must use SolidWorks software exclusively for modeling.
- The component details will be provided only at the start of the event.
- All specified dimensions, constraints, and design requirements must be strictly followed.
Any deviation from the given design specifications will result in score deduction.

Precision Tool Quest
Event Description:
Precision Tool Quest is an individual identification challenge designed to assess participants’ knowledge and awareness of manufacturing and workshop tools. Participants will be shown a series of tools, either physically or through visual display, and are required to accurately identify each one by writing its correct name. The event focuses on technical familiarity, observational skills, and quick recall of standard tool nomenclature commonly used in engineering and manufacturing environments.
Event Rules:
- The event is open to individual participants only.
- A fixed time limit will be provided to complete the identification task.
- Participants must write the correct and complete name of each displayed tool.
- Only the official or commonly accepted technical name will be considered valid.
- Spelling accuracy is mandatory for the answer to be evaluated as correct.
- No external references, electronic devices, or assistance are permitted during the event.

Hydro Rocket Challenge
Event Description:
Hydro Rocket Challenge is an experimental and hands-on event that evaluates participants’ understanding of basic fluid dynamics, pressure systems, and launch mechanics. Participants will operate a hydro rocket powered by pressurized air supplied through a rotary air compressor and execute a controlled launch. The objective of the event is to achieve optimal performance by maximizing the horizontal distance covered, highlighting practical engineering judgment, experimental awareness, and safe handling of pressurized systems.
Event Rules:
- The event may be conducted individually or in teams, as specified by the organizers.
- Each participant or team is permitted only one launch attempt.
- The rotary air compressor setup provided by the organizers must be used.
- Participants must strictly follow the safety instructions given by the event coordinators.
- The maximum horizontal distance achieved in a single attempt will be considered for evaluation.
- Participants must bring their self-designed and fabricated hydro rocket.
